The only motorcycle trade fair to date, the 2006 Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan 2006), will be held from Oct. 27 to 29 in Hall 3 of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), with about 140 exhibitors, including ones from the U.S., Pakistan, Japan, Vietnam and India, to showcase their latest products in some 300 booths.

Golden Bauhinia Cantonese Restaurant Sous Chef Lui Yau Wing scooped Gold with Distinction Award in 'Deep-fried Dish Category' in the Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2005 organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Golden Bauhinia Cantonese Restaurant Chef Lau Yuk Kei and Chef Leung Kwok Yan won Gold Award in 'Chinese World Fusion Dish Category' in the Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2005 organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

The Hong Kong Snow Sculpting Team, led by Chef Perry Yuen, Executive Chef (Western Kitchen) of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, won the Second Prize in the 53th Sapporo Snow Festival - 29th International Snow Sculpture Competition held in Sapporo, Japan from 3 to 7 February 2002. The Team won the Third Prize in previous year.

Voted one of the ten best architectural structures in Hong Kong in 1999, in a competition jointly organised by the Radio Television Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Hong Kong Economic Times.

In fiscal year 2004/05 (1 July 2004 - 30 June 2005), a total of 1,493 events were held at the HKCEC. As a part of business, there were 1,146 events utilizing major venues i.e. exhibition halls, convention halls, theatres, and large meeting rooms. These events included 97 major exhibitions (occupying 1,819 sqm or above), of which 75 were recurrent whereas 17 were new; 54 international conferences or conventions; 140 entertainment events including 44 film shows and 52 concerts; 347 banquets; and 491 corporate events, press conferences, seminars, and others.
